General Summary:

 

  1. Supports RGDC’s growth strategy by assisting in the pursuit and execution of development projects.   
    1. Responsibilities include project level and operational support to the Development and Design & Construction teams in order to:
      1. assist with conducting due diligence and project support utilizing financial models, real estate documents, investment criteria and other relevant information to evaluate project feasibility;
      2. support the analysis, reporting, and presentation needs of the Development team;
      3. assist in developing and maintaining operating and capital expenditure budgets for RGDC and development projects; and
      4. assist the day-to-day operations, including office management support

Summary of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  1. Analytical
  • Recognizes and informs management of business issues and opportunities which may affect project execution
  • Produces and delivers oral and written presentations accurately and effectively
  • Assists with formulating and implementing financial analyses of projects and assets
  • Reads proposals and tracks major lease and sale transactions for compliance
  • Assists the Development Accounting team in monitoring development cost performance
  • Develops, updates, and evaluates operating expense, cash flow, and income projections against established budgets and operating proformas
  • Assists in developing proposed operating and capital expenditure budgets and plans for RGDC and development projects
  • Assists with analyzing variances of forecasted and actual results to determine accuracy of projections and financial status of projects
  • Updates job knowledge through reading publications, participating in professional organizations, and attending formal and informal training as appropriate
  1. Operational
  • Assists manager(s) with RGDC asset management functions, including preparing various status reports, occupancy reports and graphics, if applicable
  • Proactively ensures the advance preparation of necessary materials for internal and external meetings and events. This may include assisting with creating, modifying, organizing, high accuracy, multi-media presentations and hard-copy/e-copy proposals, spreadsheets, books, slides, and graphics
  • Organizes programs, meetings, and events by arranging facilities and caterers, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, and controlling event budget
  • Coordinates with building management or directly with vendors for office repair and maintenance services
  • Liaison with IT for support and service of office equipment (e.g., laptops, monitors, printers)
  • Assists manager(s) with software-related functionalities and issues that arise in creating, printing, formatting, and scanning documents
  • Calendar management; schedules and coordinates internal/external meetings and appointments
  • Arranges complex and detailed travel plans and itineraries, as needed
  • Creates, organizes, and administers electronic and paper filing systems; archives files, retrieve documents, and reference materials as needed
  • Provides client services at reception: greeting, screening, and directing visitors
  • Prepares expense reports, processes invoices, and ensures payments are made
  • Acts as a liaison with other internal departments
  • Orders office food and beverages and office supplies when necessary
  • Retrieves and distributes office mail, handles incoming and outgoing mail deliveries
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

 

Bachelor’s degree required. 

 

Experience / Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

 

Conducts research to gather and evalulate economic, demographic, and real estate market data. Assembles and summarizes data and prepares reports of findings in support of development strategy and real estate initiatives, strategic studies, and lease transactions
    • Minimum of 1-3 years of post-collegiate work experience within related work areas
    • Excellent skills utilizing Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or other relational databases
    • Excellent analytical skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and an eagerness to develop as a professional
    • Independent and team project management skills required
    • Experience in commercial real estate is desirable.  Experience in specific areas within commercial real estate (for example, development, design and construction processes and/or property management) are desirable
    • Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
    • Proven ability to work on routine tasks independently and prioritize responsibilities based on manager's(s') schedule and business needs
    • Strong interpersonal skills required to handle sensitive and confidential situations with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
    • Must be a team player, able to adapt to change, and detail-oriented
