Responsibilities

As the Global Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) with Hines, you will develop, implement and monitor programs that promote and support Hines' short-term and long-term DEI goals and objectives, establish metrics and tools to measure progress and develop insights, and partner with the OneHines Committee(s) and other stakeholders to effectively execute the DEI strategy and framework across the firm.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner in the implementation of a firm-wide platform that supports our Hines Guiding Principle: Hines is committed to fostering an inclusive culture where diversity is respected and valued.
  • Work collaboratively with HR leadership and other stakeholders to develop and/or enhance programs and processes to identify, recruit, integrate and retain diverse talent across Hines.
  • Evaluate and consult on training options designed to educate managers and employees on the importance of DEI in our workplace.
  • Develop metrics for measuring the effectiveness of diversity initiatives and report on the value/progress of the initiatives.
  • Benchmark industry best practices to support strategies and evaluate progress in creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Plan agenda, logistics and support for OneHines Steering Committee meetings.
  • Provide oversight and programming to Functional Lead and Ambassador Roles within various OneHines networks and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
  • Plan and manage appropriate budget and adhere to budget guidelines.
  • Remain current on D&I industry trends and legal considerations, and share best practices with HR leadership, OneHines steering committee(s) and other stakeholders.
  • Manage DEI support team.

Partner with HR leadership, OneHines Committee(s), Hines management and other stakeholders to:

  • Engage with employees across Hines through focus groups, pulse surveys, etc., in an effort to evaluate progress and gather new ideas.
  • Interface with external organizations to develop partnerships and further refine strategies.
  • Evaluate opportunities to support employee community partnerships, volunteering and give-back programs that promote Hines.
  • Continually evaluate D&I efforts to ensure they are relevant to current business landscape and work as a catalyst to cultivate a more diverse workforce and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, business administration or closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Seven or more years of demonstrated experience in advancing D&I initiatives and programs within an organization.
  • Proven ability to think strategically around D&I's application to HR, lines of business, and Hines' business objectives.
  • Knowledge and understanding of D&I principles.
  • Viewed as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, peers and executive sponsors.
  • Ability to effectively work with any business level and collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Action-minded, with strong project management and organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and assessment skills, and the ability to synthesize data and make recommendations.
