As Realty Income’s Senior Corporate Accountant II, you will be responsible for working with Accounting Management to account for transactions in accordance with US GAAP and track these transactions for internal and external reporting purposes. You can also anticipate handling the preparation of schedules that support financial data disclosed to the public. Reporting to the VP, Assistant Controller, Corporate Accounting, you will have exposure to a growing Accounting Department. Come join us!

Your Contribution to the Team Includes

General Ledger

  • Perform month-end close procedures for select account reconciliations including debt/derivatives and our Taxable REIT Subsidiary (Crest)
  • Review of month-end close procedures for select account reconciliations prepared by the Corporate Accountants, including corporate assets, corporate fixed assets, and corporate liabilities.
  • Coordinate preparation of journal entries for various money market cash accounts.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
  • Preparation of FAS 144 analysis and related impairments

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare debt covenant reporting on a quarterly basis for Credit Line, Notes/Bonds, Term Loans and other corporate debt as applicable.
  • Involvement in the accumulation of data and preparation of schedules that support SEC financial reporting financials and footnotes.
  • Coordinate with cross business needs to scale operations.

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cash clearing procedures to support daily cash balance reporting and cash forecasting.
  • Serve as a wire processor, as needed, including setting up wires in the various banking portals for review
  • Involvement in the streamlining of internal processes to gain efficiencies and maintain sound internal controls.
  • Special projects, including performing accounting research and formally documenting the conclusions of management.
  • System and software implementation and upgrade testing, including Yardi.
  • Evaluate software needs for the Corporate Accounting department to troubleshoot potential gaps and ensure that adequate tools are maintained for the group.

What You’ll Need to be Successful

  • BS in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
  • Licensed CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years relevant work experience
  • Industry experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • Ability to execute in ambiguous situations and take the lead without explicit instructions.
  • Ability to handle large volume of work, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Excellent financial acumen.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent coordination, organizational and administrative skills.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, reliable and flexible.
  • Driven and self-motivated; ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Professional conduct and discretion at all times.
  • Experience with Yardi general ledger software and Yardi PayScan preferred.
  • Excellent PC skills required, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and advanced Excel.
