Real Estate Controller

JK Equities (the “Company”) is currently seeking a full time Controller in its Long Island office located in Roslyn, NY. The candidate will maintain the Company’s books and records as well as prepare monthly and annual reporting for the Company and all of its affiliates. 

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Day to day bookkeeping for the Company and all affiliated companies.
• Preparation of monthly closing entries and bank reconciliations.
• Preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for all lenders, partners and other stakeholders.
• Preparation of budget variance reporting for real estate development projects.
• Recording journal entries for the acquisitions of properties as well as any related mortgages and refinances.
• Assist in the preparation of annual tax documents and other filings.
• Supporting outside tax accountants and auditors with their requests for reports and supporting documentation.
• This is an in-office position.

Qualifications:

• CPA
• BA with focus on Accounting and/or Real Estate.
• 5 years of Real Estate accounting experience.
• Strong financial and analytical skills.
• Strong reasoning abilities with high attention to detail.
• Great interpersonal skills and ability to multitask.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and QuickBooks.
• Willingness to take initiative and complete projects on a timely basis, independently.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Compensation/Benefits

• Starting base salary: $125,000
