Position Summary
The Hotel Analyst position is working to maximize top-line revenue and bottom-line profit with daily interaction with Hotel Management, Operations and Sales, and the Cluster Director of Revenue Management.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing forecasts, tracking reports, project management, budgets, and projections.
- Analyze the performance of various rate and revenue generating strategies utilizing proprietary and non-proprietary tools.
- Analyze information from multiple sources, evaluating results to draw actionable business conclusions and recommendations for implementation.
- Participate in the weekly and long-range forecasting process, including sales strategy sessions for each open property.
- Create reports, compiles information, and analyzes the performance of portfolio performance versus industry metrics.
- Analysis of daily labor report and working with the Team on fixing any anomalies including going to the properties to assist in finding solutions.
- Organization and consolidation of expenses with vendors and proper contracts.
- Maintain quarterly Olshan Cup achievements for all of the hotel properties.
- Analyze P&L Statements prior to monthly P&L reviews.
- Analyze Weekly & Monthly STR Reports for areas of improvement.
- Maintain organized Databases of all Hotel Vendors & Contracts.
- Participate in weekly revenue calls and monthly group business PACE calls.
- Analyze and review property costs and payroll expenditures.
- Analyze and review variable budgets.
- Review Monthly profit and loss statements.
- Research P&L irregularities and trends.
- Analyze market trends.
- Assist in property financial analysis.
- Protect employer’s privacy and data; keep passwords safe.
Knowledge and Skill
- Strong technical and analytical skills to gather, analyze, organize & communicate financial and numerical information.
- Experience in the development of sales forecasts, tracking reports, project management, and/or budgets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (strength in Excel).
- Command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Must be well organized and able to multi-task with limited supervision while adhering to deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to identify problems and resolve potential conflicts.
- Must be able to set priorities and accomplish a task within strict time limitations.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment embracing various responsibilities with a high degree of independence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Administration, Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, or relevant field of work preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience (hotel finance, consulting or asset management)
- Advanced aptitude in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
