Job Overview
Cresa's Boston office is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing project management team. This position will report to the Cresa project management leadership team and will work directly with client stakeholders, being ultimately responsible for the success of each project. The Project Manager will manage and/or assist on multiple commercial construction projects, focusing on everyday project needs such as budgeting, scheduling, assembling project teams, conducting meetings, providing coordination on projects, and managing move/relocation, among other tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Project Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Represent the client in all matters including; interfacing with contractors, architects, vendors, and landlords
  • Proactively manage project-related issues on accounts or assignment
  • Understand client needs and manage client engagement and expectations
  • Develop project budgets and update financials as needed for the project management team and clients
  • Negotiate all vendor contracts, review invoices, and change orders for accuracy
  • Assess project risk and manage project contingency
  • Conduct and document all weekly meetings
  • Develop project schedules and prepare/update project status reports
  • Prepare and coordinate vendor request for proposal (RFP) documents, review proposals, and provide summary of options
  • Update tracking reports and maintain files for due diligence and financials
  • Meet client and project requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Manage project furniture procurement, create furniture inventory spreadsheets, and oversee coordination and procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • Review lease language as it relates to tenant improvement projects
  • Manage move/relocation needs including mover walkthroughs, create and track inventory sheets, coordinate move meetings, create move packages, develop signage, and manage other physical relocation activities as needed
  • Gather close-out documentation, create and distribute close-out packages to landlords and clients

Experience, Skills, and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution; degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or Construction Management, or Real Estate
  • Five or more years of project management (or similar) experience with demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, numerous deadlines, and conflicting priorities
  • Advanced knowledge of construction, architecture, and commercial real estate industries
  • Experience working in various market sectors; life science, non-profit, technology, legal, etc.
  • Familiarity with architectural drawings; furniture, fixtures, and equipment; design and space planning concepts; construction costs and schedules
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, Smartsheet, and Bluebeam
  • Superior organizational skills, process and detailed oriented with the ability to prioritize workload
  • A proactive approach to client /project requirements as well as project-related issues
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to establish goals and objectives
  • Ability to work well both collaboratively and independently
  • Excellent analytical and communications skills
