JOB TITLE:             VP of Acquisitions

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for sourcing the acquisition of real estate assets and providing financial, strategic and operational analyses of properties, operations, processes, and vendors to help Executive team make calculated decisions. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Source and screen potential investments, leading transactions from start to finish
  • Present potential investments and due diligence to executive leadership
  • Negotiate purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, and closings
  • Develop and nurture relationships with industry contacts 
  • Model complex financial structures
  • Interpret loan and sale documents as well as lease agreements
  • Model real estate issues and cash flows using appropriate tools
  • Create reports, and evaluate and project cash flows 
  • Synthesize an executive summary for an investment offering
  • Work successfully with venture partners to provide analysis and information
  • Understand, articulate and provide support for crafting the “story of why” for the acquisition and disposition of real estate assets
  • Understand and provide support to manage broker interactions and relationships
  • Provide analysis and support of developing and maintaining strong relationships with representatives of capital market providers and investment bankers
  • Support targeted marketing efforts for offering investment properties for sale
     

REQUIREMENTS:   

  • Minimum of 8 to 12 years’ financial analysis experience related to commercial real estate 
  • Experience in manufactured housing, self-storage, and GSA desirable
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • Complete understanding of transactions including a strong understanding of the strengths and challenges of real estate
  • Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately, multi-task and work well under pressure with changing priorities
  • Demonstrates impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Maintain an environment of excellence and a “can do” culture 

 

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

 Saban Real Estate LLC was formed in 2009 to acquire and develop a ‘best-in-class’ portfolio of commercial real estate and capitalize on opportunistic investments in a wide range of geographies and real estate asset classes.

 Saban Real Estate, LLC invests in all real estate asset classes and throughout the capital stack. It is currently focused on four primary strategies: 

  • GSA office: office properties leased to the federal government throughout the country.
  • Self-storage: national opportunities through its joint-venture with William Warren Group (StorQuest).
  • Student housing: national opportunities at top-tier public universities through its joint-ventures with The Scion Group and Campus Advantage.
  • Manufactured housing: own and operate manufactured housing communities. 

In addition, Saban Real Estate will look at a wide range of opportunities outside of the four established verticals that leverage the firm’s expertise in not only real estate, but also tax, legal and private equity. These transactions can vary from take privates to portfolios or entity level investments.
