Job Description
- Oversee Operations: Improve the current management and operations of the Company. Ensure that all properties, from smaller walk ups to larger Class-A are being professionally managed.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, normalize operations across the portfolio, and remove Principals from day-to-day involvement in property management tasks, allowing them to focus on higher-level strategic issues.
- Team Oversight and Building: Directly oversee all Property Managers including hiring, training and dismissing employees based on performance.
- Financial Performance: Work alongside Asset Management to take responsibility for the financial performance of all buildings.
- Optimize Resident Satisfaction: Create and execute a plan to improve overall resident satisfaction.
- Project Management: Take charge of large-scale building projects, such as Local Law 11 compliance for larger buildings (150-300+ units), ensuring all processes are thoroughly reviewed and executed effectively.
- Institutional Investor Relations: Act as the primary contact for institutional investors, providing regular updates on property performance, operational initiatives, and other relevant matters.
- Cross Team Functions: Work alongside Asset Management, Accounting and Leasing to accomplish companywide goals and efficiency.
- Grow and Scale: Develop and implement strategies to scale the property management operations, expanding beyond the New York Tri-State area into additional markets such as Jersey City, Texas, Arizona, and California.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in property management, with a focus on multifamily or hospitality-based assets. Experience in a larger company with a significant portfolio is preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and grow a Property Management team, with experience in overseeing operations for large, complex properties.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of property management software (specifically Yardi) and the ability to implement and oversee technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale projects, particularly in compliance with local laws and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders, including institutional investors.
