Job Posting: Asset Management Associate/VP
Firm Overview: Trevian Capital is a middle-market real estate bridge lending platform and fund manager that originates and services bridge loans from $2,000,000 to $100,000,000+ collateralized by commercial and multifamily properties nationwide. Trevian has a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and is growing exponentially.
Position: Trevian is seeking an asset management Associate/VP with one to four years of relevant commercial real estate experience to join its growing New York-based team. The Associate/VP will support senior management in the oversight of a servicing portfolio of 60 to 100 loans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio monitoring, including communication with borrowers to ensure business plans are being pursued/achieved and loan covenants are being met.
- Tracking and analyzing monthly financial reporting, including updating internal underwriting, calculating variances in pro-forma vs. actuals and reporting on loan performance to senior management.
- Administering and reviewing documentation pertaining to draws for construction and renovation projects.
- Monitoring real estate tax and insurance payments and escrow accounts.
- Tracking monthly payments and reviewing billing statements.
- Working with senior management to ensure favorable outcomes for watchlist and/or non-performing loans, and REO properties.
Additional Responsibilities: Trevian is a lean and flat organization that takes an all-hands-on-deck approach. In addition to the above, the candidate will have the opportunity to broaden their responsibilities to include:
- Supporting the originations team on screening/sizing inbound deals and performing preliminary due diligence on deals Trevian chooses to pursue.
- Supporting the team throughout the due diligence and underwriting process on live deals including preparing credit committee memoranda.
- Special projects.
Required Experience:
- One to four years of relevant asset management and/or loan servicing experience.
- Strong academic background with a degree in business, finance, economics, or real estate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Attention to detail and highly organized, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and eager to work in an entrepreneurial environment.
Compensation: Salary plus bonus.
