Job Description
Summary:
Perform financial analysis and transaction support for Investments Group functions. Assist senior staff with market coverage and the pursuit of new office and multifamily investment opportunities including asset underwriting, market research and due diligence. Provide support for asset management responsibilities including asset strategies, periodic valuations, budget review, and the disposition/refinancing of existing investments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
New Opportunities
· Create and update Argus and Excel financial models for potential investment opportunities and provide associated analytical work.
· Assist in supporting market analysis including economic/demographic trends, market fundamentals, and comparable sale transactions.
· Perform due diligence tasks including the review of leases, tenant financial conditions, historical property operating results, financial assumptions and other information provided by the seller.
Existing Investments
· Perform analysis to support decisions during the asset’s holding period, including analyzing lease transactions, refinancing options, and capital projects.
· Maintain Argus models for existing investments and thoroughly review assigned sections of monthly asset reports and annual operating budgets to ensure assumptions and forecast are consistent with the investment strategy.
· Accurately update property valuations and investment strategies, and produce required reporting to lenders, partners, and Shorenstein senior management.
· Assist in disposition/refinancing tasks including performing financial analysis, coordinating due diligence materials, answering underwriting questions and creating schedules for transaction processes.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university.
· 2.5 to 5 years of experience in commercial real estate investment/brokerage or related field.
· General knowledge of office or multifamily real estate investing as evidenced by a minimum of 2.5-5 years of experience in a related function.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Argus Enterprise.
· Experience performing quantitative and qualitative analysis using financial modeling techniques.

Salary Range:
· Senior Analyst - $130,000 - $145,000
· Associate - $140,000 - $160,000
· Salary ranges are consistent with what the business reasonably expects to pay a new hire. Actual pay is subject to a number of factors, including geography, experience, education, etc., and is subject to change.
