Job Description
Close Deals. Build Relationships. Shape What’s Next.
What You Will Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex real estate transaction documents – purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, development agreements, joint venture agreements, and leases
- Represent owners, developers, and lenders across the full lifecycle of commercial real estate transactions: acquisition, financing, development, sale, and leasing
- Review and analyze due diligence materials and supervise title and survey review
- Draft and review entity formation, governance, and authorization documents
- Organize and coordinate closings, managing multiple transactions simultaneously
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients – communicating clearly, anticipating issues, and delivering results
What We Are Looking For
- 7+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience – we will consider strong candidates with a compelling track record slightly outside this range
- Active Maryland Bar membership in good standing – Virginia and/or D.C. admission is a plus, not a requirement
- Experience representing owners, developers, and/or lenders in transactional matters
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
- A self-starter who can manage multiple transactions from inception through closing with confidence
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships directly and professionally
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Preferred but not required:
- Experience on both the lender and borrower sides of commercial lending transactions
- Familiarity with Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. title practice
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys or paralegals
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
- Comprehensive benefits package – medical, dental, vision, and retirement
- Genuine professional growth at a firm actively expanding its real estate and transactional practice and elevating the next generation of attorneys
- Direct client contact and deal ownership – not just supporting roles
- A collegial, values-driven culture built on honesty, integrity, and long-term relationships with clients, many of whom span multiple generations
