Position Summary
The Vice President of Acquisitions will lead Viking Capital’s national multifamily acquisitions strategy and oversee the full deal lifecycle from sourcing and underwriting through due diligence and closing. This senior executive will guide all acquisition initiatives while mentoring a growing team of analysts and coordinators. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in multifamily investments, robust industry relationships, and a proven track record of sourcing and closing value-add real estate transactions in competitive U.S. markets.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and lead Viking Capital’s nationwide acquisition strategy for value-add multifamily properties.
· Source on-market and off-market investment opportunities aligned with company growth targets.
· Manage all aspects of the acquisition process, including financial modeling, underwriting, LOI/PSA negotiations, due diligence, and closing.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, sellers, principals, lenders, and other key stakeholders.
· Lead and mentor a team of acquisitions professionals, including analysts and support staff.
· Present investment recommendations to executive leadership and investment committee.
· Work cross-functionally with legal, finance, asset management, and investor relations teams to ensure smooth deal execution.
· Monitor market conditions, submarket trends, and competition in core and emerging markets.
· Establish and refine investment criteria, acquisition models, and underwriting templates.
· Track key acquisition KPIs and report on deal pipeline and portfolio growth metrics.

Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of real estate acquisitions experience, ideally with a focus on multifamily investments.
- Demonstrated success in sourcing and closing $100M+ in multifamily transactions.
- Robust network of broker, principal, and lender relationships across major U.S. markets.
- Deep knowledge of real estate financial modeling, investment analysis, and deal structuring.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and underwriting tools such as Argus, CoStar, and RealPage.
- Prior leadership or team management experience required.
