The Finance Associate is responsible for supporting the Company’s finance strategies for one or more departments within the organization to source, structure, and close equity and debt ventures for the acquisition of institutional multifamily real estate projects. Additional responsibilities include assisting key business leaders in managing equity partners, lenders, investors and oversight of investment fund management etc.
Lead and/or assist in the financing needs of a specified fund and/or asset. (Value add, Open ended or separate account vehicles)
Manage the loan and venture closing process including document review and loan and venture closing checklist
Maintain files and databases to streamline communication and efficiency between team members, and our equity and debt partners
Foster and maintain equity and debt relationships on behalf of the company. Assist in securing financing for new acquisition opportunities.
Coordinate, compile and analyze equity and financing packages summarizing the highlights, requirements, market information, and other financial data for corporate decisions.
Complete various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.
Closely work with members of the investment management team to deploy capital and obtain the appropriate leverage.
Assess financial viability of new projects and underwritten leverage.
Run and/or review proformas generated in pursuit of new acquisition opportunities.
Assess and make recommendations on additional financial analysis tools that would better support lender/loan tracking activities (using third party financial analysis software).
Develop and maintain mortgage banking relationships.
Evaluate the re-financing of properties in the portfolio.
Education
College degree in business, real estate, finance, or related field and/or equivalent experience is preferred.
Qualifications
3-5 years of relevant CRE experience in the financing of institutional grade apartment properties.
Bachelor's degree required
Ability to understand, interpret and analyze financial data
Strong planning and organizational skills
Extensive experience with excel and other applicable office programs
Strong attention to detail
Ability to think strategically and manage multiple initiatives
Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information
Strong written and verbal skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to take on new challenges both independently and work with the financing team.
