Position Overview:

The Development & Operations Analyst position involves a broad range of financial reporting responsibilities. Key areas of focus include compiling and analyzing financial information in support of the company’s real estate development activities including potential real estate land transactions and those existing properties owned by the company.

Specific Duties:

  • Collect and studying data of all components of business activities and operating systems (hospitality operations, property management, capital structures and real estate development)
  • Provide underwriting and evaluation support across multiple property types, including condo, condo-hotel, hotel, office, multifamily, land and alternative investments
  • Prepare information memoranda and associated materials for distribution to potential investors, lenders and investment committee
  • Ability to produce ad hoc investment analysis and reports
  • Assists senior managers with financial and budgetary information for all facets of business activity
  • Use of various software applications, such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word to develop financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis
  • Creating and reviewing of real estate project pro formas and cash flows, capital structure and operating budgets for existing hospitality operations
  • Preparing detail operating projections for hospitality businesses including hotel, condo-hotel, property management, spa and food and beverage entities
  • Manage the development of analytical models for evaluation of project development alternatives
  • Preparation of economic analysis, other preliminary valuation models and sensitivity analyses for acquisition opportunities, existing operating or disposition strategies
  • Participates in extensive property due diligence, entitlements, analyzes market data, and conducts other various industry research.
  • Assist in land residuals for site acquisitions
  • Prepares development and investment pitchbooks and investment memorandums

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Strong problem solving and analytical ability
  • Minimum three-year real estate development industry experience. Hospitality experience an asset
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a time-sensitive manner
  • Ability to prioritize projects and assignments with limited direction
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and results-driven professional
  • Ability to work with limited resources
  • Exceptional attention to detail, must be accountable for the accuracy and quality content of work product
  • Dynamic, proactive, resourceful and practical
  • Team Player with openness to work with analysts, development managers and senior management
  • Treats people with respect, keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, works with integrity, upholds organizational values
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to speak Spanish would be an asset
  • Ability to travel is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics
