Development Associate

The Finger Companies is seeking a Development Associate to assist with the company’s development activities throughout the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and update development pro-formas;
• Participate in multiple aspects of the development process including, but not limited to, managing professionals and consultants and generally aiding the team from project conceptualization through implementation;
• Manage the due diligence;
• Work with Development Principals to obtain municipal approvals;
• Correspond and coordinate efforts with construction department to resolve dry and wet utility issues;
• Working with architects and engineers to obtain proper zoning;
• Overseeing various design elements;
• Implementing most economical construction methods;
• Selection of contractors;
• Accepting role of owner’s rep with general contractor during construction;
• Maintain administrative development files, records, and internal reporting metrics for executive level reviews.

REQUIREMENTS                       

• Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning or Urban Studies. Master’s in Business Administration, Urban Planning or Public Policy would be preferred;
• 2-5 years’ experience;
• Experience, working in finance, real estate development or urban planning required;
• Multifamily housing experience;
• Strong analytical skills required;
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and ability to analyze data;
• Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint a plus;
• Excellent verbal / written communication and presentation skills;
• Ability to interface with a myriad of internal and external team members, including governmental, construction and property management personnel, required.

Position based in Houston, Texas.  NO relocation. Prefer individual already living in Houston, Texas area.

COMPENSATION

$100k/year + benefits.
