JOB SUMMARY


CBRE is hiring a Senior Research Analyst for the Investment Strategy Services (ISS) team for CBRE Econometric Advisors. The ISS team works with clients to use market forecasts and data science to maximize investment returns. Clients include investors in real estate, as well as lenders and underwriters.

ISS work product is customized to each firm's needs and ranges from individual asset research to market targeting and portfolio level support. The range of services provided by ISS includes:

Complementing and augmenting the real estate research departments of firms requiring customized research expertise

Creating market performance assessments for specific assets - new acquisitions or managed properties

Providing on-going insight into the commercial real estate investment environment

Working with executive teams to refine strategic initiatives and validate market strategies

Assisting in market selection or targeting for new and existing funds/portfolios

Monitoring market conditions specific to existing portfolios or in support of new funds

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

Provide research and analysis support of commercial real estate markets. The role will react to RFPs from clients for data gathering, analysis and inference of commercial real estate market conditions and trends.

Assist the Research Consulting Director in executing client projects, including data collection, reporting, analysis, and the communication of results and recommendations.

Provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to clients and effectively to present information when necessary.

Support CBRE initiatives, including support of the company's lines of business and debt/lending market analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate will provide the Investment Strategy team with broad ranging research and analytic support. Candidates should ideally have:

Bachelor's degree required (preferably in economics, finance, computer science, statistics, math or related field); graduate degree a plus.

Minimum 2 years of experience preferable.

Exposure to the commercial real estate industry, with an understanding of common industry terms and practices.

Knowledge of econometrics and statistical analysis, and software used therein.

Familiarity with databases (SQL Server, MS-Access) and advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Excel.

Familiarity with VB programming as it relates to these Microsoft tools.

High level of organizational skills and ability to balance several projects at once.

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents and summarize graphically and in writing. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

Ability to handle and manipulate large amounts of data.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. 

Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.

Willingness to learn new skills and apply them in fast paced, dynamic business environment.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Pay will be commensurate with skill set.
