PROPERTY MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATE
POSITION SUMMARY
One of the fastest growing Tri-State private equity real estate firms is seeking a highly motivated Property Management Associate to spearhead all building and property management related responsibilities across a portfolio of NJ centric assets. This role will be responsible for day to day management of all building operations and tenant facing correspondence.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, relentless attention to detail, and an all-encompassing passion for property management of high-quality buildings and transitional development projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Will serve as first line of communication for all tenants and third-party vendors
- Travel required for on-site inspections across the North/Central NJ portfolio on a weekly basis to identify issues, determine necessary action and implement solutions. Most travel within 1 hour of the firm office
- Manage portfolio maintenance program and minor building improvement plan
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed in a timely and properly
- Regular upkeep of maintenance logs and property inspection reports
- Recommends, develops and coordinates projects that enhance the value of the buildings
- Experienced in managing bidding processes across small to medium sized jobs in addition to supervising contractors while work is in process to ensure satisfactory delivery of services
- Maintains intimate knowledge of lease agreements and assists in the lease administration
- Assist with tenant rent collections and facilitate tenant collection discussions and execution
- Assist controller in managing accounting processes, bookkeeping and invoice approval
- Assists controller in preparing annual operating budgets and forecasts and prepares reoccurring financial reports
- Analyzes financial statements to project future financial position and budget requirements
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial real estate or property management experience including tenant relations, construction/maintenance oversite, familiarity with property management and building systems, and lease documentation and administration
- Professional appearance and excellent verbal and written communication skills as the position is client facing with tenants, vendors and potentially investors
- Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced team environment
- Written and verbal communication skills (clear, concise, and confident) with the ability to manage internal and external relationships
- Basic computer/technical communication skills including email and Microsoft Word and Excel
COMPENSATION
- Compensation commensurate with experience and education level ($60,000 – $75,000) and full benefits
