About the Role


Combine a deep understanding of UBER business strategies, with solid knowledge of Corporate Real Estate in order to develop efficient Real Estate, Project Management and Facilities solutions that enhance clients’ productivity and their ability to achieve business goals.


What You’ll Do


  • Work very closely with senior leaders at HQ to deliver all facility related services with the utmost level of customer service and attention to detail.

  • Develop and manage a team of Office / Workplace Managers / Coordinators in multiple Bay Area locations to provide an engaging employee experience.

  • Build strong internal relationships with Uber employees, office stakeholders; specifically, Legal, Finance, IT, and HR to foster a positive employee experience.

  • Work closely with Property Managers to ensure that the service to leased buildings is in keeping with Uber's standards and lease obligations.

  • Oversee and execute on target financial budget of various sites; partner with Finance to track monthly and quarterly metrics.

  • Responsible for the management of vendor service contracts, periodic and ongoing performance & financial review, conducting RFP’s, and assuring performance of team, including service providers.

  • Lead and assist team in the management of all maintenance programs including but not limited to: MEP, FLS, Space Planning, Food & Beverage, Transportation, Health & Safety.

  • Develop a thoughtful and comprehensive workplace, lease, and space planning strategy based on Uber's short and long-term business needs, align with company mission to provide a simple, yet operationally excellent and productive workplace for our employees.

  • Identify, analyze, and execute real estate transactions which support the business.

  • Work closely with external Real Estate Transaction management provider (Broker).

  • Oversee and support contracted Project Managers to develop and deliver relocation projects and execute tenant improvements.

  • Meet regularly with business stakeholders to understand Uber's real estate needs by team and by site.

  • Manage real estate lease expirations and other key lease dates and clauses. Develop and communicate clear business cases for the analysis, review, and approval of real estate projects for stakeholders, business leaders, and executives.

  • Collaborate on all capital expenditures for the construction and alterations of office facilities, infrastructure and leased property, including the negotiation and management of all facilities leases.

  • Work closely with finance to report on financial performance, validate and control vendor costs.

  • Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity programs.

  • Ensure compliance with state, local and federal regulations and applicable building codes.


What You’ll Need


  • Strong background in customer service promoting a positive employee experience. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

  • 10+ years running distributed real estate portfolios, including corporate headquarters

  • 5+ years experience managing multidisciplinary teams

  • Degree in accounting, finance, facility/property management, Real Estate, or related field; additional licensing, certification, or master’s degree (MBA) preferred

  • People management experience, preferably including remote direct reports

  • Deep experience in space and real estate planning, utilization optimization, and facilities management in a rapidly growing organization

  • Strong finance background handling complex agreements, large budgets, and reducing SG&A costs

  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, planning, timeline management, implementation, and all elements of execution

  • Proven ability to favorably negotiate and adequately manage service contracts and vendor RFPs

  • Previously led multiple successful procurement efforts and excel at negotiating and handling multi-million dollar budgets

  • Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written, especially with remote teams and executive leadership.

  • Ability to be nimble, creative, and dynamic. Adapting to change comes naturally for you

  • Strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Internal and external teams.
