The Professionals’ Choice for Real Estate Jobs

Building Bridges

A year before the economic collapse, on August 1, 2007, I crossed the Mississippi River bridge on my way to the Minneapolis Airport. I thought I felt shaking but figured it was the trucks working on the other side of the bridge. Arriving in New York I got a call. The bridge I had crossed on a major Twin Cities highway artery, I35W, had collapsed. A year later the NYT reported the 40-year old bridge did not collapse from age-related deterioration but the increase in load bearing caused by additional concrete barriers between lanes plus heavy trucks and machinery working on the bridge. What should be the major priority for America in this election? Infrastructure and the jobs created to modernize it. Our infrastructure was not created for our increase in population and mobility. Politicians are asked for plans, but should be asked for their 2 top priorities in order. In the meantime, I may give everyone I know what I gave my family, The Seat Belt Cutter Window Breaker Emergency Escape Tool.
