JOB SUMMARY


The Analyst is responsible for assisting senior team members in gathering research market information required for the preparation of draft deliverables for a large set of clients within their division. Assists senior team members in various stages of analysis and preparation of deliverables. Assistance may include entering data in the property database, taking photos of the subject and comparables, and driving the neighborhood to gain a deep understanding of the subject's competitive environs and articulate these finding in report deliverables. In addition, the Analyst does preliminary research on a property including verification of comparables, demographics, market area analysis, discussions with market participants and additional research as necessary for the assignment. The Analyst is responsible for cooperation with team leadership in the advancement of the Hotels Advisory program for the division.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Duties Specific to Analyst: Assists senior team members in pursuing efficiencies and enhancements in Research techniques, data sources and resources available for advancing the practice, and makes recommendations to senior members of the team based on findings.

Assists in preparing simple portions of Market Study and Feasibility Studies and other core services for non-complex assignments.

Coordinates with the line of business platform; i.e., subject area, geographic resources and experts able to support the needs of line of business clients. Maintains awareness of individuals and available resources within CBRE, both internal and external to CBRE Hotels platform, required to optimize client outcomes.

Assists in preparation of simple assignments with substantial guidance from senior team members related to deliverables such as Market and Feasibility Studies, Acquisition Due Diligence assignments, Operational Studies, among other offerings.

The Analyst assists in (1) writing "front half" sections of Market and Feasibility Studies and other deliverables requiring description of the Area, Neighborhood, Subject Site and Subject Improvements; (2) complete the majority of research required for advanced assignments, with close supervision from Senior Analyst; and (3) assist in financial and analytical analysis for simple assignments, including (a) analyze past revenue and expense performance of the subject and attempt to project a stabilized operating statement, (b) assists consultants in preparing recommendations to senior team members on expense comparables, and (c) assists consultants in researching market for recent sales transactions and making recommendations to senior team members for comparable sales.

Business Development: Develops client and industry contacts, actively promotes Advisory services both internally and externally. Attends local industry conferences and events,and actively pursues opportunities for impactful client interactions within the scope and limitations of the Marketing Plan and with MD approval.

Quality Control. Assists senior team members in their Division in improving quality of Advisory deliverables.

Information and Research. (1) Recommend data to be included in information source file. (2) Assists senior team members in the pursuit of research topics for publication. (3) Coordinates with senior team members to publish relevant content via email blasts, trade publications, social media, etc. (4) Conducts research under the supervision of senior team members in preparation of Research projects.

Client Relations and Practice Development. (1) Cooperate with senior team members to see that followup plans are established to assist in obtaining continuing Advisory assignments. (2) Assist in the promotion and publicizing of Advisory services. (3) Participate in such outside activities as are deemed beneficial in advancing the Advisory, VAS and CBRE Hotels services of CBRE.

Recognized as a valued team member on a clear path to advancement within the Division hotel team.

Responsible for assisting team members in preparing for client communication during and after assignments to ensure optimal client outcomes.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.

May coordinate work and assign tasks.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred, in Hotel Administration, Marketing.
0-2 Years of related experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

Knowledge of hotel operations and investments
Some travel required (US) as is customary in the normal course of business for conducting Advisory assignments

Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
