We recently partnered with the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS), one of the largest pension funds in the country, and its advisor Belay to acquire and reposition $400 - $450 million of urban real estate in primarily California and Texas. We are therefore seeking to add to our team to support the significant growth of our business.
Job Description:
We are seeking a full-time Asset Manager to be an integral part of our team and lead our efforts to create value in our properties and oversee property/construction management teams. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and want to be instrumental in growing and building a special company. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate to implement property-level business plans
- Analyze and evaluate property progress and enact necessary changes to maximize value
- Assess and manage property and capital market risks in the portfolio
- Monitor cash flow, budgets to maximize returns
- Liaise with property managers, lenders, contractors, brokers, attorneys, etc.
- Negotiate lease and property contracts
- Assist investment team in acquisition due diligence
- Contribute to institutional-quality investor reporting
- Participate in investment committee and client presentations
Qualifications:
- An intellectually curious, resourceful and proactive team player
- A desire to work in an environment that fosters gender and multicultural diversity
- Bachelor’s degree. Ideally suited for those with strong leadership, financial and analytical skills
- 5 - 10 years of professional experience in real estate. Real estate development or operating company, property management, engineering or architecture a plus
- Strong skills in financial analysis and strategic thinking
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
