Position Summary:
CHI is looking for a highly motivated Senior Development Associate to work as part of a growing team on the development of speculative and build-to-suit warehouse projects in the Atlanta market. The Senior Associate’s primary responsibility is to assist the team with the acquisition, capitalization, development, leasing and asset management processes for new and existing development projects. Additional responsibilities include underwriting, market research, due diligence review and reporting. This position will report to the Managing Director in CHI’s Southeast Office located in Atlanta, GA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide support in new development pursuits, conduct various market analysis and financial feasibility research, and assist in conducting preliminary due diligence
- Oversee the marketing leasing activities for projects and manage third party leasing brokers
- Create proformas for development projects as well as lease analysis, including obtaining market information
- Manage project budgets, construction draws, and review each phase of the construction process
- Work closely with investors, lenders, internal accounting, and title companies to secure project funding
- Assist in contract negotiations with partners, consultants and prospective tenants
- Participate in development meetings and manage coordination between development, and leasing teams
- Conduct market analysis, financial feasibility research and preliminary due diligence
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or other related field
- Minimum of five years’ experience in industrial real estate finance or development
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic in a small office setting
- Highly analytical and research driven
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are a must
- Flexible and adaptable with excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills
- Possesses excellent judgment and the ability to make quick, but informed decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills & presentation skills required
- Polished communicator with ability to maintain strong working relationships
