Job Description
- Lead all construction operations for ground-up multifamily developments, including podium and wrap style builds.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and quality assurance to ensure successful delivery.
- Drive value engineering efforts to optimize construction costs without compromising quality.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing construction team, including project managers, site supervisors, and field staff.
- Collaborate closely with Development Managers and other executives to align project goals with company objectives.
- Hire and manage third-party subcontractors and consultants.
- Partner with the development team during pre-construction to review designs, budgets, and schedules.
- Assist in sourcing and negotiating vendor contracts, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Develop construction risk management strategies, addressing safety, compliance, and financial risks.
- Monitor construction progress, addressing delays, cost overruns, and quality issues proactively.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure safety, adherence to plans, and contractor performance.
- Provide regular reporting to executive leadership, ensuring transparency on project status and milestones.
- Implement best practices, tools, and technology to improve construction workflows.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in construction management, preferably with a leadership role overseeing multifamily ground-up development projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of construction processes, budgeting, scheduling software, and contract negotiations.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale projects ranging from $30M-$100M+.
- Demonstrated experience managing a project management team, sub-contractors, and trade partners.
- Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP, or similar) are a plus.
- Experience with multifamily projects in Texas markets.
- Expert on Texas building codes.
